The pandemic is not the only crisis we faced in 2020. Current megatrends demonstrate the urgent need for a transition to a fair and sustainable society. Now, more than ever, the world is looking to the innovation community for responses to existential challenges and new pathways towards wellbeing and global development. How can entrepreneurial innovators and their support actors build back more resilient ecosystems, supporting the transition to a new digital, green and fair golden age? Hosted by the EU|BIC community, the 2021 EBN Congress ‘Emergent Futures’ will debate, re-imagine, and co-design the critical factors for delivering innovation impact. The appointment is for the 14th and 15th of September.

Within this framework, the PentaHelix project will contribute to a panel discussion on “Using challenge-driven approaches, co-creation and co-design methodologies for a green, digital and fair transition” taking place on the 15th of September at 2 p.m.

Tom Boyle, CAN Europe (Partner of the PentaHelix project) together with Laure Raso (CEEI Murcia), Roberta Dall’Olio (EURADA & ART-ER), Agnieszka Włodarczyk-Gębik (Krakow Tech Park) and Andrea Di Anselmo (META Group) will animate a discussion to shed light on:

– Why regions should invest in demand-driven innovation and how co-creating solutions can bring change;
– Why we need to embed demand-driven innovation in incubation, and how co-creation methodologies can drive towards efficient, fair and sustainable responses;
– Why challenge-driven approach is the future and how to implement it in decision-making processes adopted by local authorities, incubators, start-ups and businesses.
