This year PentaHelix will be participating as the associated organiser of the joint session at the Policy Conference, organised within the EU Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW). EUSEW is the biggest event dedicated to renewables and efficient energy use in Europe and this year’s theme is ‘Shaping Europe’s energy future’. The Policy Conference will take place in Brussels between 18 and 20 and will be hosted at three venues: the European Commission’s Charlemagne and Berlaymont buildings, and the Residence Palace.
The joint session entitled ‘Local authorities as drivers to address climate change’ will take place from 11:00 – 12:30 h on 19 June 2019. Association European Energy Award AISBL and Sviluppo Marche srl are the lead and co-organiser of the session, while projects CoME EASY, C-Track50, EMPOWERING, LIFE SEC ADAPT, PentaHelix and IMPLEMENT are the associated organisers, together with the Covenant of Mayors Office.
Attendees of this session will have the opportunity to benefit from projects’ results (findings, tools, e-platforms…) that are easily transferable to different local settings. Initiatives presented during this session will provide useful information both for local, regional and national authorities and political decision makers willing to develop and improve their climate strategy and actively shape Europe’s energy future.
