Fundación CIRCE www.fcirce.es has supported the Provincial Council of Avila in the SECAP's development for 7 municipalities of the Province of Avila. The Climate Change adaptation assessment has be done, which represent a first-time evaluation of this kind for these municipalities. The assessment follows the Covenant of Mayor methodology and has been mainly based in the Climate Change Scenarios from the Spanish Platform AdapteCCa. For this region, there is a tendency towards higher minimum and maximum temperatures, with longer heat waves and more intense precipitations events. However, the most relevant vulnerability is related to the loss and aging of the population. This assessment is a key diagnosis tool for municipalities to start planning their future while integrating the challenges that Climate Change demand.
