Kick-off Meeting of PentaHelix Project

The partners of PENTAHELIX project have just returned from the project Kick-off meeting, which was held in Zagreb, Croatia at the end of March. Partners are excited to start the new project, which is promising in allowing municipalities to learn from each other in energy and climate planning and implementing energy and climate measures – it would help each of them to make steps forward.  As emphasized by project leader Mr. Tomislav Novosel, UNIZAG FSB, SEAPs and SECAPs nowadays often become like a “wish list“ of the proposed measures, which are not being implemented. For that reason, the aim of PentaHelix is to integrate SEAPs/SECAPs with stakeholders which can have a benefit from it and make it a “living document”.

The project aims to achieve sound impacts:

  • Energy savings of over 1200 GWh/year
  • Renewable energy production of over 700 GWh/year
    • Renewable energy production of over 700 GWh/year
    • Renewable energy production of over 700 GWh/year
  • Investments of >800 m€
  • The project will within its duration facilitate the initiation of the development of at least 50 integrated plans
  • 39 Municipalities will initiate SE(C)APs within the Covenant of Mayors, of which 8 by the phase 1 municipalities and 31 by the phase 2 municipalities
  • Total number of stakeholders involved: more than 730

There is a lot to do in the coming years in the PentaHelix project, to make steps forward in energy and climate, stay tuned!
